The Mianning County Disaster Prevention and Reduction Planning Formulation project undertaken by IDP (Institution of Disaster Prevention), was successfully accepted recently by the expert evaluation commission of Mianning County People’s Government of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The Commission consisted of 7 experts, including: Researcher Li Xiaojun (Deputy Director of Institute of Geology and Geophysics Chinese Academy of Science), Researcher Tang Rongyu (member of Science and Technology Commission of China Earthquake Administration), Researcher Ran Yongkang (Institute of Geology of China Earthquake Administration), Researcher Zhou Rongjun (Institute of Earthquake Engineering of Sichuan Provincial Earthquake Bureau), Senior Planner Zeng Yu (China Construction Engineering Design Group Co. Ltd.), prof. Guo Xun (IDP) and Prof. Shen Jun (IDP).

Prof. Yuan Yifan, the project technical director, gave a detailed report on the procedure, major achievements of the project, and suggestions on the earthquake prevention and mitigation in Mianning county. The Commission highly acclaimed the project in serving the urban planning of Mianning County. 

Prof. Bo Jingshan (President of IDP), Guo Jun (Deputy Secretary-General of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture People’s Government of Sichuan Province), Li Zhijian (Deputy Director of Liangshan Yi Prefectural Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction Bureau), Zhao Dong ( Deputy Mayor of Mianning County People’s Government), Jiang Jiyi (Vice Director of Scientific Research Division of IDP ) also attended the review meeting.
