Prof. Shen Jun and Dr. Yu Xiaohui from the department of earthquake science   attended the 12th International Symposium on Geo-disasters reduction held in Fullerton, California, USA from September 5 to September 7.

This meeting is hosted by the international association of geological disaster and disaster reduction, and sponsored by Fullerton College from University of California. More than 200 experts, scholars and engineers from 30 countries all over the world attended the meeting. Prof. Shen made a lecture about Active Fault and Strong Earthquake Activity in Xinjiang Area in China. Representatives conducted an extensive communication and discussion on active faults, earthquake and geological disaster and prevention.

In this meeting, the related research on active faults in earthquake and geological disaster in IDP is presented, which deeps the mutual understanding between IDP and scholars in this area from different countries, and is of great significance to promote international academic exchange and scientific research cooperation in IDP.
